Blue Label Lounge Houston, TX

This is definitely a cool place. We were there on a Friday night and Blue Label Lounge went off! The space has a contemporary feel and the crowd was lovely. I definitely recommend you check it out.

It is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Most days it is open from 4pm-2am

The area is really sketchy, 3 girls and we were approached by 2 individuals to pay for public parking because their house was “right there” we almost left.
The club line last night was full of a mix of people, the doorman let us wait for 15 min and let in alot of his friends first, once inside it was good but it was quickly too crowded, we are used to a nice mix but later on the crowd became very spanish and the music changed as well, we left around 130ish. On the way to the car we were again approached and went back to the door to have the off duty cops walk us to the car (they asked us for our for phone numbers). All in all, decent music, seems like it could be better, drinks were $6-10 (average) better alternatives, the area can be downright scary, no lit streets or sidewalks, and even if you are on the list or have a table reservation the doorman or promoters cannot handle it, give it a few months and if it survives and adds parking it may be cool, otherwise take guys with you to avoid the “parking fee”, and maybe know the doorman, basically cheap suit local guy, 2 smiles and a nice “hello” to get in.

I and a couple of friends of ours made a table reservations ready to spend money on a birthday girl. Was very dissatisfied when they would not allow our friends enter the bar, because of their race!!!! I was told by Fabian that they try to keep the club racially equal, but saw no only whites!!!! 2 blacks, and maybe 1 asian. Terrible customer service after I explained we had a table reservation!!! I was told that just because we have a table reservation dos not guarantee your entrance, WOW!! What a great to spread the word. And not to mention the bar has not even had their garnd opening. I guess they had to open to make money to add more lighting fixtures because its very dark, cant even see the faces of what girls are there. Men/ woman ratio terrible. 1 girl to 10 guys.

  3. AUDREY Says:

I will never go back!! First we were denied entrance because they said it was for VIP reservations only. I even watched them turn down a group of pretty girls. Now what bar does that? We finally got in (thanks to our white friends leading the way) and the music was sorry, the crowd was lame and the manager was like harassing us the entire night. The couches in the bar were considered “VIP” and we happen to run into some friends of ours that had a couch reserved. We could finally get off our feet and sit down! Then they left and said we could take over their couch…that was until the manager rudely came over and made us get up. He wouldn’t even let us sit down!!! Now ladies who wear heels know how hard it can be on your feet…no one was even sitting on the couch! It was awful. I felt discriminated against and not to mention the bar was lame anyway. I will never go back and everyone that was with us agreed!!!

  4. KOBI Says:

they are racist. they wouldn’t let me and my friends in. when we finally got it, the music was bad (techno..not even up to date) and no one was even dancing. Everyone was just holding up the wall. Drinks were expensive and it was just boring. Not worth the hassel of trying to get in. They were turning everyone down at the entrance like P didy was up in there. I won’t ever go back.

    Racist and boring anyway.

  7. James Says:

Wow, all of you must have went to the wrong place! I had an excellent time at blue label, celebrating my girlfriends birthday. We were greated at the door and let in after a few minutes which was completely understandable due to how busy it was. and the nonsense about them being racist is absurd! The door guy is mexican! some people will never be happy! oh well…I will definately be back

  8. hotmamma Says:

We had so much fun at Blue Label! There were about 100 people at the door, but we got right in (by the hispanic door man, BTW)! There was a great mix of people there, and I have to say all of them were good looking. We saw several NBA stars and even an NFL guy!
The drinks were good, avg. price, great service – the manager was really good about making sure we were taken care of (a party of about 12 girls, 10 guys). True, no dancing, but good music and no issues about seating/lighting for us; then we were moved to the VIP room – which was amazing! The location is one of those “up and coming” though, in about 6 months I bet there’s more parking & street lights (or just valet!) I can’t wait to go back and in my opinion its one of Houston’s hottest spots!

  9. clubber Says:

    This place sucks…
    Very grinchy,especially that manager.
    Very expensive.
    Weak music.
    Will never step there anymore.

  10. David Says:

It’s basically the same as Drake… Too pretentious and you’re not getting in unless you tip the door guy. There was a group of about 30 people that were turned away, we ended up going to Citizen instead, right across the street. A little packed but you can actually speak to someone and the bartenders take care of you.

  11. mike.t. Says:

This place was a wonderful place in wich I would recomend to anyone looking to have a great time. I myself was moved from a reserved table and truly understand why. All I have to say is classy!

  12. Sara H. Says:

I went to Blue Label and had a blast! I had to wait a little before I got to go in,but I had a great time once I did.I will be back for sure!

  13. Uncle Junk Says:

This place is total garbage. They are totally racist, and the place isn’t even cool. I give this place 6 months and they will be a has been place.

  14. Industry Says:

You people are retarded. Why support these elitist places on Washington Ave? Houston will NEVER have the nightlife that MIAMI, LA, NY, and VEGAS have. Just accept it already and support the places that actually TAKE CARE of their customers.

  15. R.Rucker Says:

Seriously? Im the owner and if you don’t dress proper or look like a thug you are not getting in! You don’t like it,Oh well.We are trying to keep Blue label a classy venue, not a dollar beer joint.Only complaint im hearing is that some people were not allowed in.Well, dress proper an try again, because we are not racist at all.As far as sound system we did have issues first month, now a completly new system through out.As far as the tabels being reserved and not letting anyone sit there thats how it works. If someone buys 3 bottles and gets a section reserved its theirs and empty until they get their thats how a reservation works!! Tables and couches are for BOTTLE SERVICE ONLY!! Walk down to the local pub if you dont like it because we are keeping it classy at Blue Label Lounge!Hope I have cleared any confusion for you complainers. Thanks….RR

  16. mike.t. Says:

I have been back since then the place sucks. I give it a few months. They were not racist let me right in just not worth it to small. Who puts couches in the middle of a bar.

  17. Arthur Says:

The “owner”, R. Rucker is in desperate need of grammar lessons. Tabels vs. Tables, Their vs. There….Very Classy!!

  18. Sean Says:

Is there safe valet parking? I want to take my wife out for V day but am concerned about parking my GT2.

    Thank you

  19. mike t Says:

This owner R.Rucker needs to go back to school! I wonder if he went to a speacial school and got a degree. I wonder if his family felt sorry for him and started up this place! Who knows learn to spell! Is he five.

  20. R. Rucker Says:

lol..ya bad spelling..I was in a hurry. But glad to see that you continue to goggle Blue Label Lounge..these are fake people on here who have personal issues.Such as getting fired…etc.

MIKE T aka James T Check out your Feb. 11th comment and the grammer.

As far as parking:We have the largest parking lot on Washington and all of it is valet.

  21. Blanca Says:

Gosh all this kind of scares me. I have a party planned at Blue label on the 23rd of May for about 20+ people and 4 bottles to start and wondering how many of my friends are going to be able to get in? If too many of them can’t get in due to various excuses I really don’t want to waste my time. Can you please let me know YOUR term of CLASSY?

  22. vacay Says:

    RACIST!
Yes, the guy at the door was Mexican, because I told him off in spanish and called him a liar. My boyfriend is black and when he and I walked to the front of the line, he said we could not get in unless we had an invitiation only. The funny thing is, our friends walked in before us, and they did not have an invitation.
We asked why this was, and he couldn’t give me an answer. There were more people that walked in, and he never asked them for an invitiation…they never even showed an invitation, they just showed their id’s and walked in. By the way, they were hispanic. hmmmmm.

I’m mexican and he’s black. We are in Houston for crying out loud. We were there for a friends birthday and ready to spend money. We also have many connections and know many promoters that told us about Blue Label, we even went to a day party there a few weeks ago.
Needless to say, we will call every promoter that we know and let them know to not give any of their business to the Blue Label Lounge. If they don’t know how to take care of people that want to go and spend money and have a great time, then they should not be open.
We went down the road and had a blast, and were treated as should be.

Blue Label Lounge has something coming to them if they don’t take care of the people in this city. The sad thing is, we had friends in from a different city, that were also highly upset about this…and they too will tell people that they know.

Be careful who you deny at the door, because you never know who they are. They may be the next big thing in your city, and you will never have the business you should because of the word of mouth that people give to others.

  23. R.Rucker Says:

Check out Blue Labels myspace and facebook page for photos to see our crowd it speaks for itself.Mabye we stop throwing the race card an realize it could be just people were not dressed proper etc..come check out our all new Thursdays W/ DJ RED and Satudays W/ DJ BIZZ they go off!New patio cabanas as well.

  24. erica w Says:

blue lable is very racist im gonna pray for you guys i understand not letting in hoodrats, or ghetto individuals but nicely dress black hispanic individuals is so out of line

  25. the hell Says:
