Are you wondering what to do with your city of Houston traffic tickets? Well here is my experience. After recently moving here, I was pulled over for alleging making a wrong left turn.

Great thanks to the city of Houston I now hav my first traffic ticket ever. So to keep the ticket off my record, I contacted a traffic ticket attorney. They advised me for $75 bucks, they would go to the first court date for me.

What they did was, get the traffic court date postponed in hopes that the cop would not make the next court date. Wrong! The cop did show up to the next court date. I had to show up as well.

After being in traffic court for two hours, I was presented with the option of defensive driving or deferred judification. Defensive driving costs you a cool $143 and deferred judification is $210 in court costs.

I went with defensive driving to kill this Houston traffic ticket. I hope it will make my insurance go down a bit and this ticket is NOT supposed to go onto my record.

Here is the break down of cost for this unfortunate traffic incident.

Traffic ticket attorney - $75
Court costs - $143
Three hours of lost work - $$$
Defensive driving (more hours of lost work) - $?
Total= somewhere in the ballpark of $400

In hindsight, it may have been more productive to just pay this Houston traffic ticket. What has been your experience with Houston traffic tickets?
