I need advice , she says I should wait

I want to date my friend's sister and he has no problem about it. After talking to her, she confessed I am her closest male friend but that she is not ready for any serious relationship now. she never gave me a yes or no answers but that she want to gets in to college to further her education before going in to any relationship with committment and she does not want to have a relationship with me which she will not be serious with. she is 23yrs old and she said she made the decision about relationships some times ago. I think she is telling me to wait for the right time, I talked to her again and I am sensing she ,might change her mind but I dont want to be too forward. I wont want this to affect the friendship i have with her brother. I have already risked enough Should I wait for her to tell me the time is right or what? I will appreciate all the comments you can post here. Thanks
