through personal past experience, I’ve found it’s best to use 91% isopropal versus the 70%. It does alot more efficient cleaning job.
From there you can take the raw alcohol+resin and pour it onto a stoneware/pyrex dish and burn it until you’re left with a huge “clean” resin ball for emergency use!
If your more concerned about getting it clean than recycling some smoke, mix it up with rock salt and if all else fails, a pipe cleaner (like for fishtanks) should do a great job getting the remaining stuck on goo.

I tend to use the acetone method for cleaning glass pipes.

I prefer to let my pipes soak in 70% Ethyl alcohol. I usually leave it soak for about 24 hours, but it’s not necessary to go that long. Afterwards, wash it out with water to get the clumps out. After washing it out, I use 70% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol on Q-Tips to reach in loosen up anything still on the walls of the pipe. Repeat water rinse and rubbing alcohol process to get it as clean as a whistle. Enjoy!

i find if you put about a cup of methylted spirits in the assembled bong, then put in a cup of rice
and shake…the alcohol loosens the resin and the rice strips it off
very simple, very effective

For extremely caked on resin, soak in a bowl full of hot water and OxyClean. That shit is powerful and will get it pretty clean in a matter of hours. Repeat if necessary, but it worked in just one soaking after alcohol soaking did nothing

I personally have found Easy Off fume-free oven cleaner to work the best (NOT THE GENERIC) just spray it in your piece, let it foam up leave it there for a good minute, then rinse, it will all come out with out scrubbing, and waiting. BUT I’m cleaning my piece as I type this, and I have no easy off, and I wanted to know how to clean my bowl, because boiling isnt working very well :/

If you intention is to smoke the resin afterward don’t use salt. Just fill your bowl half way with 90% Isopropyl alcohol cover the holes shake it up, and drain the resin it onto a dish. Repeat this process until the alcohol comes out clear. You can either wait 8-12 Hours for the alcohol to evaporate, or you can use desk, or shop lamp with a standard 60w light bulb to accelerate the evaporation. Clamp it to your desk about 3″ inches above the dish and it will dry out in under an hour. If the resin starts to whirl around the light is to close to the dish. Just keep a good eye on it to make sure it doesn’t catch fire. Then just scrape it off the dish, load it up, and smoke it.

Seriously Acetone (Nail Polish Remover) and salt works way faster than you will expect. Acetone is the main ingredient in resinate glass cleaner except they use silicate instead of salt as an abrasive which IMO over time WILL etch your glass.
