Uptown Sushi Houston will not disappoint you. I recently had the opportunity to taste some of their amazing sushi creations and I was impressed.

The soft mood is set with modern décor and light lounge music playing in the background. The crowd seemed to be made up of, 30 to 40 year old professionals looking to have a good time.

Uptown Sushi gets really busy. If you’re looking for a night of mingling, plan to hang out at the bar and enjoy a drink or two before dinner. Reservations are only accepted until 7pm. We had to wait about an hour for our table.

Back to the sushi; we started with the succulent rib-eye beef rolls. These rolls are made with thin slices of delicate beef, which is wrapped around avocados and sweet Japanese yams.

The Escolar was awesome! This is a very delicate snake mackerel which is quite rare. This sushi just melts in your mouth.

My absolute favorite for the night, was the 7 & ½ sushi roll. This roll consisted of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, masago, and avocado which is rolled and tempura fried. It is served with spicy pepper past, ell sauce and Japanese mayo. Make sure you try this one!
